Perplexity Indexing is for site owners who want their newest content considered by AI answer engines sooner rather than later. Perplexity cites live web pages in its answers, so how quickly a page is crawled and indexed can affect whether it is available to be referenced at all. Rather than waiting for crawlers to notice changes on their own schedule, the app sends indexing requests over the IndexNow protocol as pages are published, updated or removed. Those requests reach participating engines such as Bing, Yandex, Seznam and Naver, while the app keeps your sitemap signals current so pages stay crawl-ready for the AI crawlers that read the open web. Setup stays out of the way. Verification is handled by injecting the required tag into your site head, so there is no key file to upload and no HTML to edit, and background scanning watches your sitemaps and submits only the URLs that actually changed. The dashboard shows what happened and when, covering daily usage against your limits, submission success rates and the individual HTTP responses returned by each engine. Engines decide what they crawl and index, so results vary by site, but you can see that the signal was sent.
