Easy Meals Japan grew quickly as a result of Covid, but several issues were creating significant difficulties for the owner. First, they required a redesign of their website due to business refocus and rebranding. Also, their customers had difficulty understanding how their Subscription Plans worked. Most significantly, the business owner spent 4 to 5 hours each week consolidating customer orders so that accurate and efficient kitchen preparation plans could be created. Finally, they wanted to expand their market to include local Japanese-speaking customers, but their website only supported English language.

First, we proposed to split the project into two phases so that we could address the most impactful issues first – site rebranding and redesign. We also created an infographic illustrating the meal selection and ordering processes for the site customers.

With the site relaunched, we turned to building a custom framework for customers to select their meals each week (for Subscription Plan customers) along with consolidating the various orders into a single, comprehensive Order Summary. We integrated the Wix site with Google Sheets so that the Order Summary could be viewed in a spreadsheet format and could be used to track progress during the kitchen preparation operation. 

Finally, we built the Japanese-language site pages and supporting custom code to provide a comprehensive Japanese website to attract local customers.

Since the site relaunch and customer user interface deployment, Easy Meals Japan has added additional Vegan Meal Plans and has partnered with a popular gym to co-promote special fitness-focused Meal Plans. AWA Singapore is a membership community organization catering to women in Singapore of all nationalities, especially women and their families moving to Singapore for short-term work assignments (expats). AWA Singapore organizes various events for recreation, education, and general support for relocated families. Their website serves as a focal point for all event promotion, registration, and payment transactions (where applicable).

The current site was created almost 10 years ago and was based on the ASP.NET framework. AWA Singapore made a large initial investment to create the custom site as well as a large recurring annual cost to maintain and operate the site. With the advent of modern Content Management Systems (CMS), the organization embarked on a project to migrate their current site to a CMS that not only matched all of their current site functionality but also delivered this functionality for a much smaller ongoing investment. They chose the Wix platform based on the recommendation of a member with some prior experience with the platform.

The initial challenge for this project was to first understand all current business processes associated with their current website and to then map those processes to “off the shelf” functionality of the Wix platform. Where possible, processes that had been highly customized over time were standardized, thus allowing more processes to be mapped to standard Wix functions. Where a Wix process could not be identified, workarounds were put in place.

Having mapped all current processes to a standard Wix function, we then created a simple Brand Board based on their current site branding, supplementing it with typography options which were not available with the prior web framework. Next, we created data-driven pages for each section of the prior website, enabling organization staff to maintain the site content from Wix Collections (databases) without requiring the editing of site pages in the Editor. With all organization staff being volunteers, except for the General Manager – our Client, it was critical to create a website where long-term content management was easy and efficient.

USC24x7 is a community website intended for fans of the University of Southern California (USC) college football team. The website was originally built using Wix in 2020 using the traditional Wix Editor and included an active Blog, a community forum for Site Members, and a unique “Game Day” entertainment feature where Site Members try to guess the final scores of the season’s games, with a final, overall winner being declared at the end of the season.

The site owner wanted to migrate the site to the new Wix Editor X platform to create a fully responsive website for their community members – maintaining all current site functionality. The site is rich with video and image content in addition to the Blog and Forum areas, and having a fully responsive design would enhance the user experience.

We started the project by first designing a Migration Preparation Plan that included a review of all existing page objects and custom Velo code to identify any objects that were not supported by Editor X. (Since Editor X is a newer Wix Platform, some of the existing page objects were not supported.) These unsupported page objects and associated code were then replaced and the revised pages fully tested.

We then completed a full review of the custom “Game Day” code to identify and resolve bugs, errors, and functionality that did not perform as intended. Data for Game Day is maintained in five custom Wix Collections which are maintained by the Game Day page and event-triggered code. Together, the custom code and custom Collections insure the integrity of all input data entered by the Site Members and the ranking data calculated during the actual game play.

With the Migration Preparation Plan fully complete, we finally turned our attention to the actual migration of the site content to the Editor X version of the site. The design of each page was adapted for a fully responsive website with three breakpoint sets, insuring an optimum user experience regardless of the visitor’s device type.

They also consolidated many of the business operations into the website platform to simplify the flow of information and improve the user experience, enabling us to expand our school to include a more global student population.

Multi-lingual site providing detailed information about the programs and services offered by this International School in Jakarta. Project goals included a significant redesign and refresh of the site as well as the adoption of the Ascend business tools for digital marketing, customer engagement, business process automation, site analytics, and SEO.

Aerial Yoga Studio with multiple locations required a website to support their fast growth, maintain separate financial accounting records, and manage 100% of their class booking, subscription plan management and sales, and eCommerce sales. Wide adoption of the Wix Spaces mobile app and its community-building functions also contributed to the site's success.

If you have such complexities beyond that that you may need custom code developed I understand they have been successful at providing that solution, though I have not found that necessary to use those services (to date!) Highly recommended from a very critical reviewer with generally high expectations, which in my opinion were fully met.

When you first decide on a consulting firm, there is always that fear and uncertainty that the Project Scope "Promise" will be met.  Then you fight the distances, and in this case, I'm in California, and Reed from GoldenByte Consulting lives in Singapore. Significant concerns that Reed covered thoroughly up front in our many zoom discussions before signing our agreement.   Goldenbyte Consulting delivered a complex update and a migration on time (3 days early) and on budget per the agreed scope.  We had new scope creep in, and Reed handled those well I was very satisfied with the additional fees applied to the project.
